SAP Endorses the Advanced Planning and Scheduling Solution "OR Soft Manufacturing Workbench"
The SAP Company and OR Soft Jänicke GmbH have been working collaboratively and successfully for many years in the areas of "Supply Chain Management (SCM)" and "Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS)". As part of this collaboration, an agreement was signed in July 2007 certifying the OR Soft’s "Manufacturing Workbench" as an SAP-endorsed business solution.
SAP-endorsed business solutions are solutions recommended by SAP as a supplement and extension of the portfolio in specified areas; areas where SAP has identified gaps in the SAP solution map. "OR Soft Manufacturing Workbench" is the SAP recommended partner solution in the areas of SCM and APS. Manufacturing Workbench sits exclusively on top of the data structures of the leading SAP system and, in principle, requires no additional infrastructure.
The Manufacturing Workbench tool is aimed to provide more potential in Supply Chain Management. SAP-endorsed business solutions are intended to be used for clients who have specific requirements and need special features but are not yet covered by the SAP solutions. Manufacturing Workbench can be deployed as a cross-application across several modules such as: SAP ERP MM, PP-PI, PP, QM, PM, CS and SAP SCM PP/DS. Moreover, Manufacturing Workbench can also be utilized in smaller businesses as an "Advanced Planning Board" in the context of SAP Best Practices Solutions.
To attain this certification, the colleagues at SAP examined the software by conducting comprehensive solution qualification tests and successfully certified Manufacturing Workbench and successfully certified Manufacturing Workbench to being in compliance to SAP standards for the following:
- integration of OR Soft Manufacturing Workbench into SAP ERP,
- included functionality,
- all documentation procedures and documents.
The solution will be installed in an own name space /ORSOFT/ and service requests can be addressed to OR Soft through the SAP Service Portal.
Based on the OR Soft Manufacturing Workbench, OR Soft offers various preconfigured solution packages, plug-ins and products that address:
- requirements specific to selected industry sectors
- local planning tasks
- cross-site SCM issues
within a reasonable budget and short implementation timeline.
